Here below the announcement of the upcoming
EWOB 2003 CD, including a list of the selected
bands and tracks. The CDs will be ready on
September 10, and will be available to the
all the bands that have performed at the
EWOB 2003. The price is 7.00 Euro incl. VAT,
and excl. shipping costs, and can be ordered
via Rienk Janssen or me.
The CD will also be presented at the IBMA
convention in Louisville, Kentucky, during
the first week of October.
In the meantime we are very proud to announce
that the EWOB 2003 Convention in Voorthuizen
has been nominated for the IBMA event-of-the-year-2003
award, along with the Grey Fox Bluegrass
Festival in New York (State), and Wintergrass
Festival in Washington (State). Both are
very big and impressive festivals, and we
all can be proud to be there, listed in the
same category. On behalf of the EWOB team
we surely like to thank you all for getting
the EWOB 2003 nominated!!

45 bands from the far corners of the globe
came to showcase on May 29, 30, and 31, at
the 6th annual European World of Bluegrass
festival, held as always in Voorthuizen,
Holland. For three colorful days and nights,
banjos, mandolins, guitars, dobros, fiddles,
and basses were everywhere, blazing like
tulips all over this tiny Dutch town, in
and around the festival site, in the marketplace,
in front of stores and restaurants. The EWOB
festival is the apex of 30 days of bluegrass
music events across Europe, a fantastic celebration
of International Bluegrass Month, organized
by the European Bluegrass Music Association
(EBMA), with support from IBMA.
